SIMONIS
860 PROFESSIONAL BILLIARD CLOTH
If you're purchasing
a table
because of
your love
of the
game, you need to give extra
thought to the cloth you'll specify for its surface. While
it comprises a small portion of your total outlay, the
fabric you choose is absolutely critical to your game. The
cloth that overlays your slate must enhance its surface, and
never get in the way of your game. It must provide perfect
flatness to give the ball a true and accurate roll, and
assure that your shots have consistent speed. Cloth can make
the difference between a good player and a great one.
A BETTER GAME HAS BEEN WOVEN INTO
SIMONIS CLOTH FOR OVER 200
YEARS.
Simonis Cloth has contributed to the best games of the
games' best players for over 200 years. Since 1680--nearly a
century before cloth was used to cover billiard tables--Simonis
craftsmen in Verviers, Belgium raised the weaving of quality
wool cloth to an art form, ultimately developing superior
table coverings that meet and define the needs of carom,
pool and snooker. Throughout those 300 years, the
distinctive quality of Simonis wool cloths has never been
duplicated. Today, Simonis is the oldest and largest company
dedicated solely to cloth for carom, pool and snooker. For
other fabric mills, table cloth is only a sideline.
A BETTER PLAYING SURFACE, BECAUSE IT'S FLATTER.
Simonis Cloth gives you a flat, flawless playing surface
because it's made from WORSTED yarn. Beginning with the very
finest virgin wool, skilled craftsmen comb it to remove the
short wool fibers from the yarn, and then twist the
remaining long fibers tightly together into yarn that is
unmatched in the industry. This yarn is woven into a cloth
that's tough, smooth and level. The final shearing process
removes random fibers, leaving a flat, nap-free surface. By
contrast, ordinary woolen cloth is woven of yarn that's made
from long und short fibers twisted together to make a bulky
yarn with a fuzzy surface. On your table, the Simonis
playing surface is smoother and more consistent -
a difference you and the ball can really feel play.
MORE RECORD RUNS HAVE BEEN MADE ON SIMONIS CLOTH THAN ANY
OTHER SURFACE.
The essential benefit of Simonis Cloth is its effect on your
game. Feel the surface carefully and you'll realize Simonis
Cloth is free of any nap that would pill, shed or compress
to form gullies on your table. With no felt-like nap to
break down, the worsted threads provide a smooth, even
surface to assure consistent speed, "English," and cushion
rebound on every shot. With Simonis Cloth, you never need to
overpower a shot to get distance. Always, you're in control.
More record runs have been made on Simonis Worsted Cloth
than any other surface. A flawless, defect-free playing
surface is why Simonis Cloth has been on tournament tables
all around the world...for generations. And why Simonis
Cloth has been the official cloth of all tournaments
sanctioned by the Professional Billiards Tour Association,
the European Pocket Billiards Federation, and others.
ITS COST EFFECTIVE WEAR FACTOR
MATCHES ITS SUPERIOR PLAY.
Because it's woven from durable worsted yarns, Simonis Cloth
can last 2 to 3 times longer than ordinary cloth, easily
resisting the wear of ordinary play. With no nap to be
damaged, it does not suffer from the primary causes of wear
to cloth: pilling and shedding. Instead, it maintains its
perfect surface much longer. And because of its high wool
content, Simonis Cloth resists "ball burn" marks much better
than ordinary cloth. You not only enjoy the best games of
your life, but an economic benefit that's equally valuable.
Simonis Cloth, with its superb weaving quality and uniform
texture, gives you more hours of play and does not need
replacement as often as ordinary cloth.
SIMONIS' TIGHT WEAVE NATURALLY REPELS
LIQUID SPILLS AND STAINS.
The tight weave prevents penetration of dirt and chalk dust,
and the twist of the worsted threads allow the fabric to
naturally resist liquid spills and stains, thus greatly
increasing the fabric's life as well as making it easy to
clean.
Simonis cloth naturally repels liquids because
they use fine worsted wool, a high
thread count and a proprietary weaving process. This keeps
liquids from penetrating the cloth and allows spills to be
cleaned up quickly without staining or damaging the
playfield.
Recently some cloths have entered the market with a "new"
feature... stain resistance. These cloths require chemical
processes to achieve the ability to resist liquid spills.
Unfortunately, the chemical treatment reduces the accuracy
and predictability of the cloth, negatively impacting your
game.
A new feature? Resisting liquid spills has always been a
part of Simonis cloth. Simonis has
chosen not to chemically treat their
860 cloth, because chemical treatments would actually reduce
the accuracy and quality of these cloths.
THE MOMENT OF TRUTH...
At the moment of truth, after your table is installed and
leveled, it's only you, the ball and the CLOTH. Whether you
play for sport or reward...whether you spend $500, $5,000 or
more for your table, insist on the best table covering.
Simonis 860 cloth is nap free to eliminate piling and
shedding for long wear and more consistent play. Recommended
for all pool games, especially 9-ball.
